Engine Mechanical problem
1997 Oldsmobile Bravada 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 130ooo miles

one day I had to crank the engine for longer then normal before it would start, and then it acted like it was going to die, after the RPM's raised it was ok until the next time I would start it, it would do the same thing. That time the ( service engine soon ) light came on. The next time I went to start it, it wouldnt start, the starter turns the engine over very fast but it wont start. My thought is that it is a fuel problem, am I right?

Hi oldtimer41,

Thank you for the donation.

When the SES indictor lights turns on, it indicates an error has been detected and this seldom is a fuel problem. You would have to test what is missing causing the non starting. It could be fuel or igniton and with the SES light turning on, I would suspect it to be a sensor fault.
