My battery died over the weekend and I boosted it yesterday without issue, car started no problem. I have noticed that the engine is louder now and there is some clicking noises that were not there before. I also noticed that if the car is stopped and I move the steering wheel it feels shaky (not like it used to). I took it to part source today and got the battery, alternator and starter checked. All checked out fine. Any ideas?

Hi:
THis may sound too simple, but have you checked the condition of the belt that drives the alt and the PS. Make sure it is tight and in good condition. If it is freyed, it could be slapping something under the hood and you hear it. Plus, if it isn't turning the PS pump enough, you can get a shakey feeling in the wheel and the alt may have allowed the battery to get weak.

Check that and let me know what you find. Make sure it is tight too.

Thanks for the info. It's weird but the car seemed to fix itself? The sound is gone and I didn't do anything. Do you think it could have been dirty gas or the computer re-sseting itself?

Bad fuel can cause strange things to happen, so maybe. As far as the ticking, just make sure the belt is in good shape. A piece may have broken off and stopped making the ticking noise.

Let me know if you have other questions, and thanks for using 2carpros. Com.
