1996 Oldsmobile 98 car runs for few days then car wont star

I am have issues with my 1996 Olds 98 Regency the car will run fine for a few days then when i go out to start the car up the HOT light is on let car cool for 2-3 days HOT light goes out and car will start up and does the same thing over again and again I need help

When the problem occurs, are you saying it cranks good but won't start or it won't even crank. If it won't even crank, I'd start by checking the starter circuit.

If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it, while you visually check for spark at the plugs. If you have spark everywhere, use a gage and check fuel pressure. At the moment, I have no idea what that lite has to do with anything? I can help you check for spark, if you want to go that way. Some of the national brand autostores used to loan out a fuel pressure gage.
