My bank 2 sensor 2 had a code. I changed O2 sensor. Code came back. My question is, could the new 02 sensor be bad or catalytic converter going bad? Truck runs fine code or no code.

Thanks for any help.

Hello,

It is possible to have a defective part, it can also be due to a faulty catalytic converter or issue with the oxygen sensor circuit.

Many times, these codes are just emission related and might not impact drivability. But it will not pass emission inspection, if you are in a state that requires it.

Which code did you get was it P0420? or was it a different one?

Let me know if there were any other codes.
Thank you.

Hello, what code are you exactly getting? There are different oxygen sensor codes that mean different things.
