Cranks but will not start. Cannot hear fuel pump. Replaced all fuses and relays. Smell gas under hood on left side.

Good morning.

You need spark, fuel and compression for it to run.

Try spraying some carburetor cleaner into the air filter and see if it starts and stalls.

Check for spark by removing a wire from a plug, insert a screw driver in the end and lay it close to a metal piece. Then crank the engine and watch for spark.

You also need compression. If you remove a spark plug, you can insert a tester to see if it has compression.

Hello JESICA MEYER,

I am sending you a link to a great article from this site on conducting a compression test. This article features written step by step instructions, pictures and two videos. One video shows you how to conduct the test with a gauge and the other video shows you how to conduct the test without a gauge.

If you need further help please come back to this post. We are always happy to help.

Kindest regards,

Renee
