Are the other electronics on the vehicle working? For example, headlamps, windows, exterior lighting and so on.

Hi,

Okay, we need to check what are called fusible links. They function the same as a fuse, but look like a regular wire.

If you look at the attached pic, I have circled five different ones. These fusible links supply power to multiple different things, so I feel this is where we need to start. Also, you indicated the horn works, and if you notice in the pic, it is a separate fuse for the horn.

What you will have to do is locate the wires by color as indicated in the pic and confirm if there is power to them.

I noted you are a mechanic, so let me know if you need anything else.

Take care,
Joe

Hi,

When you open the hood of the vehicle, they are located on the driver's side of the engine compartment in the junction box.

Hi,

I am so sorry. I wish I could be there to help. What do you mean by multiple fuse? Also, a fusible link can look good but be bad. You need to check if power is going through it or check it for what is called continuity.

See if this link helps at all. Also, I have no idea why there are no electronics in the key fob. That makes no sense.

Hello,

I meant multi fuse in the fuse box not multiple fuse.
The most concern is if I can get the dashboard lights to come up, I may be able to get along from there.

The power supply to the instrument panel is supplied through a 10 amp fuse in the passenger compartment (under dash/left side). Check that fuse and make sure it has power to it as well.

See pic 1.

Hi,

That 10 amp fuse has power on it yet the dashboard lights don't come up.
I tried to connect a piece of wire from the positive battery post to the iG1 fuse inside the car (driver's side fuse-box);then (1) the dashboard lights came up inclusive of the check engine light (2)with test light connected to negative battery post all the fuses in the EMS box (engine side fuse-box) light up. But when I disconnected the wire (which I connected to the battery positive) no light come up to the dashboard and no fuse lights up in the EMS box (engine side fuse-box).
Can the fuse-box inside the car (driver's side) be the problem area? Do I have to replace it so that dashboard lights come up normally?

Hi,

The ignition 1 (IG1) Is a fusible link in the underhood fuse box. It sends power to the ignition switch. Where did you connect power in the vehicle? You have me a bit lost.

What ever you sent power to is where the problem is. There is an open circuit to the fuse you powered.
