I was driving and the car started sputtering and then shut off. It will not restart, doesn't crank or anything. I had the battery and the alternator check and they both test good. It was suggested that the alternator is controlled by the computer. What could be the issue and should I check to see if this is still covered under warranty?

Hi there,

Have the battery checked for charge and if flat get it charged and load tested, do you have any dash lights showing? Also get the alternator charge rate checked, start here and report your findings.

If you look at the original question, I already had the battery and the alternator tested. I am currently having the starter tested do you have anything other ideas?

Hi there,

If the battery and alternator are OK, that rules out that side of things, now dose it crank over or is it doing nothing, if there is no action, let me know how the starter tests up. If I it cranking and not firing, you will have to check for spark, fuel pressure & injector pulse also have a scan done for any un resolved fault codes, let me know what you come up with.
