Cranks but does not start, (no BUS) code

Engine cranks but don't start. Small response from both fuel and temperature gauges. I have no response from fuel gauge,no whirring sound when the ignition key is turn on.
Additional information: Recently I had to change out the old fuel pump relay with a Jeggs external fuel pump relay kit because the original hot wire was shorting out. Needless to say I wired it up (incorrectly I think), so as I was attempting to re-examine my work I accidentally dropped a socket which landed between both pols of the circuit breaker that came with the relay kit. As bad luck would have it the battery was still connected. Henceforth, a short with a subsequent dreaded (NO BUS) code in the odometer display.

It sounds like you have blown a fuse or the ASD relay is not working. here is the engine and fuel pump wiring diagrams with a guide so you can see how the system works and hos to test it:
