I am not sure what you mean by fuel module control. Where did you get it and what is the part number. A picture helps, too.

I have gotten down to the fuel pump in a 1996 Nissan Sentra, but cannot find the clip that releases the assembly. I have taken out the float and can access the pump, but cannot seem to release it to remove it. Any suggestions? A picture would be great.

Thanks.

Thanks rasmataz. I've tried this but with no luck. The chamber is held in place by something. I'm afraid to use too much force for fear of snapping something off. The attached photo is what I am looking at - "front" is on the left.

Engine Mechanical problem
1995 Nissan Sentra Four Wheel Drive Automatic

i was driving my car one day and it was running fine until I went to a service station. When I pulled out of the yard the car started to rear up like I was pressing gas reallly hard but I wasnt, and it did this all the way home even when I pressed brakes. I left it for a day or two then decided to try again it was fine for about three days then it turned off when my gas level got to low I am just wondering before my husband changes the fuel pump is that the problem?

Have your husband clean the entire throttle body, including the butterfly and throttle cable. Sticky carbon buildup within the TB probably caused the throttle cable stayed engaged even when you remove your foot from the accelerator pedal.

Engine Performance problem
1994 Nissan Sentra 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 210K miles

My car began cutting off every now and then starting a few months ago. It wasn't frequent and only happened when I first started the car, drove down the street and stopped. It kept cutting off more frequent so we replaced the fuel injectors, and cleaned the throttle. Check everything else, car seemed to run okay for a while. Then the car would have trouble starting, and just wouldnt fire. Finally it would not fire anymore and I had it towed to a shop. They said it cranked up fine and the fuel pump was working. A few days later the car wouldn't fire anymore unless I banged the fuel tank a few times, then I would hear the pump kick in. Also, if I sprayed starter fluid to the intake filter she would fire, so this let me know it had to be the fuel pump. This process worked for about two weeks until she gave out. I wanted to make sure there was nothing else I could do before I replace it?

Check the fuel pressure before you condemn the fuel pump/and remove the back seat and double check the fuel pump connector-

Or disconnect the fuel filter turn key to On and observe for fuel -No fuel the pump is defective-

Your car doesn't have a carburetor. It should be fuel injected.

All "crank, no start" conditions are approached in the same way. Every engine requires certain functions to be able to run. Some of these functions rely on specific components to work and some components are part of more than one function so it is important to see the whole picture to be able to conclude anything about what may have failed. Also, these functions can ONLY be tested during the failure. Any other time and they will simply test good because the problem isn't present at the moment.
If you approach this in any other way, you are merely guessing and that only serves to replace unnecessary parts and wastes money.

Every engine requires spark, fuel and compression to run. That's what we have to look for.

These are the basics that need to be tested and will give us the info required to isolate a cause.

1) Test for spark at the plug end of the wire using a spark tester. If none found, check for power supply on the + terminal of the coil with the key on.

2) Test for injector pulse using a small bulb called a noid light. If none found, check for power supply at one side of the injector with the key on.

3) Use a fuel pressure gauge to test for correct fuel pressure, also noticing if the pressure holds when key is shut off.

4) If all of these things check good, then you would need to do a complete compression test.

Once you have determined which of these functions has dropped out,
you will know which system is having the problem.

I have a nissan sentra, 1990, manual transmission, 1.6L

the car has always ran really well. Couple of days ago put a new stereo in, it died. Replaced battery, ran for a day and half, died, replaced alternator, ran a day died. It will start and run about a min then dies, won't start again unless I wait about an hour then does the same thing. I'm moving on to the fuel system. Is there directions on diagrams on how to change the fuel pump and fuel filter. I had both barrery and alternator check, they are fine, should be since they are new. Anyway any diagrams or directions would be of great help

Fuel filter wouldn't cause engine to stall. Inspect your fuel pump relay before replacing your pump itself.

A relay is similar to a switch, only the vehicle's computer turns it ON or OFF instead of a human. When the relay is activated, it allows the component that it controls to operate. If for some reason the relay fails, it can no longer allow the component to operate either. Your vehicle's fuel pump relay is located under the left side of the dash and should be green in color. It will be a large plastic square shaped item plugged in, it just pulls out much like a fuse does. You can go to our "first things to check" page to learn how to test an electrical relay

Recheck the lines-do you hear the fuel pump come On when key at run position? If so check fuel pressure with a gauge not the eyeball or thumb method.
