A couple of weeks ago I went to a Nissan dealer for an oil change. I ran a diagnostic and found out that the car needs a new downpipe, vent control valve, and it has an oil cooler seal leak. Recently the car has had trouble turning on. Sometimes it will turn on fine and run fine. Other times it will have trouble turning on. Today after it finally turned on it would turn off while driving. Could any of these be the reason the car is acting this way? If not what could the problem be?

Hi kbf160,

If the engine is stalling when slowing down or at a stop, the most common fault would be the idling speed is too low.

Possible causes are :

1. Idling speed too low. The IAC, throttle body and MAF could be dirty and requires some cleaning.

2. Vacuum leakages between the air filter and throttle body. Check the air hose for cracks.
