Somebody had tried rewiring the fuse box. I would like to get a color code and numbered location for each wire. It's a standard model with no extra features can somebody please help, I can't really afford to pay the dealership $120.00 per hour to have this job done when I am perfectly capable.

Hi,

Here is the problem: There are several fuse boxes on this vehicle. What I am going to try to do to help is this. First, I am going to provide the entire power distribution wiring schematic which indicates what fuse box is supplying power and wire color and fuse number. Then I will provide what each fuse is for. Please understand, there are many pages of the schematic. I have to, at a minimum, cut them in half to make them readable for you. I will keep them in order and overlap them so you can follow them easier.

Pics 7 and 8 Instrument panel left.

I hope this helps.

Interior problem 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 92000 miles

I bought my daughter a 2000 Jetta this weekend and the cigarette lighter doesn't work for her to plug in a GPS. It looks as if something was spilled in it. Where can I find a diagram where I can check the fuse?

Hello,

Here is a guide to help you test the fuse #41 located it from these diagrams of the fuse panel (below):

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-a-car-fuse

Open the driver door and look at the side of the dash, you will see an access panel, pop it open and you will see the fuses. The cover will have a small card attached to it with icons. Look
for a cigarette icon to match-up which fuse to check. Here is the fuse panel identification

Check out the diagrams (below)

Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Cheers, Ken

Hey Experts! The first diagram posted here at the top is the one for my vehicle! 2017 Jetta GLI. The only issue I’m having is trying to pinpoint which fuse corresponds with the rear running tail lights (drivers side). The fuses in that diagram aren’t always labeled what I would look for, (for instance windshield wipers is F10 - Right Steering Column Switch), so I’m wondering if there is a more technical term I’m just overlooking that corresponds with the drivers side tail light that I’m missing?

If you look below, I attached a small portion of the wiring schematic from above. I highlighted the wire to the tail light (left side). Power is provided from the electrical control module, behind fuse panel C. Thus, there isn't a specific fuse. What you would have to do is check that pin for power.

Have you checked the grey/black wire at the tail lamp for power? If you haven't do that. Here is a link that you may find helpful:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-wiring

Let's first confirm that it isn't an issue with the light socket or a bulb.

Let me know what you find.

Hey Joe! Appreciate the help!

Here’s what we know so far:

It’s not the bulb (replaced them with fresh ones), no dice. Swapped the left and right units - and the unit that wasn’t working works on the passenger side, and the unit that was working does not work on the drivers side.

Additionally - the running tail light does come on for certain things. When it’s in park (this is a new development as of today) and when the brake is applied (but there is about a 3 second delay - whereas the brake lights come on immediately).

So I know the thing can work, so guessing it’s not the wiring. Wasn’t sure if there is a separate fuse for the brakes vs running tail light to explain why it works for certain functions.
