My Viggen just stopped running and I can't get it started. It will run on starter fluid, but not on the normal fuel delivery system. I replaced the fuel pump and filter. When I turn the key, I think I can hear the pump running. The pump fuse is okay, and I changed the fuel relay under the dash. The part was in another Viggen that was running. The battery is fully charged. Could it be an airlock in my high-pressure fuel line? I do not have the plastic tool to release the fuel line up by the fuel rail.
I appreciate your help as I am stranded without a car! Peter

My Viggen runs on ether but not on the fuel delivery system.

Hello,

It sounds like the issue is fuel delivery to the injectors.
It could be caused due to a restriction in the fuel line, could be a clogged fuel filter or a bad fuel pressure regulator.

A good first step would be to check the fuel pressure. The fuel pressure can be tested using a pressure gauge. Typically, those tools are available at your local auto parts store to rent.

This vehicle should have 43 PSI of fuel pressure.

Here is a helpful guide:

I have attached the fuel pressure test procedure below.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.

I will replace the fuel pressure regulator. Before the car stopped running, I got a service security warning. I also noticed that my remote unlock key battery drained out. Could it be that I need to replace the battery? The manual says to turn the car to on and then press a button to unlock a door. Could this be the problem?

If the security light is illuminated, it will prevent the engine from starting. Keep in mind that just having low battery on the key should not trigger the security light.

Is the light currently on?
