Car; I believe ran out of gas

My son ran his car out of gas or so he thought because there was little or no gas. Problem is; we have put in approx. 5-6 gallons of gas and it still will not start. It is fuel injected, did I not hear about a switch on fuel injected cars; some where in the trunck? Any ideas?

Does it crank when you try and start it? Turn the ignition on and have someone listen for the fuel pump.

Pull off your fuel line right when it goes into the fuel rail and put a bucket or something under it and turn it to ON but dont crank and let your fuel pump push fuel out. If nothing comes out your going to need a new fuel pump.
