1994 Mitsubishi Galant coolantg leakage

I have just installed a new Water Pump - the antifreeze is still leakage from where the oil filter is. I inspected the oil, it looks normal (not creamish or milky). What could still cause the coolant to leake.

Hi Atul,

There are a couple possible causes.

You could have a leaking Freeze Plug in the area of the oil filter.

Or you could have a Blown Head Gasket that is blown to the out side of engine instead of inside. That could be why there is no coolant in the oil or vise versa.

If you can get a picture or 2 or 3 of the area and post them on here I could give you a better idea hopefully.

I very much appreciate your response and I will include my donation shortly, I promise. I will take some pictures of the area of the leakage.

One question, if the head gasket is broken (presumablhy, worst case scenario), would the vehicle still start. The car is starting just fine, no hesitation or other starting problems.

Yes, even with a blown head gasket the vehicle can run just fine especially if it is blown to the outside of the engine. You will just have to keep adding coolant so it doesn't overheat and cause more problems.
