When I go to start my car it makes what sounds like an electrical motor. It sounds like the engine is free spinning. The only code I got off of it was "crank sensor malfunction." I have been to three differnt mechanics and have gotten three differnt answer's. I am on a very limited budget. So I really can't afford to try everything. Firts I was told my clutch and flywheel aren't grabbing, then I was told all I need was a sensor, now I got someone telling me its the timing belt. Do any of these issuse's sound right.

So it sounds like the starter is turning but nothing is hapening. Why don't you pull some spark plugs and see if any cylinders are developing compression. That is the easiest way to determine if your motor is mechanical functioning.

After that you can take off the valve cover and see if the cam is turning and valves are opening and closing -- another easy check. This will tll you if the engine top end is hooked up to the lower end.
