the radio does not work. could this be a plroblem with yhe fuse or could it be a problem with a loose wire?

you'll have to remove your radio to check. to do this, pop off the plastic tabs on each side. You'll see two little holes on each side. Either make your own tool out of a metal hanger, or buy one for about 7 or 8 bucks.
