i drive a 1993 mazda b2600i 4x4 manuel. i recently started it to go to work and it started a werid noise in the engine. i used to own a 97 izuzu rodeo and it sounded like that. i have ran it somewhat hard. on the highway it revs up to 3000 rpm at crusing speed. but what can i do about a rod knock possibly. i have checked the oil. i just replaced it with mobil 10w-40 and a STP oil filter. it has 3/4 oil left on the dip stick. the night before though it did get hot due to a crack in the radiator but did not sky rocket. i put coolant it and just started to steam while driving.

Hi f18pilot5, Welcome to 2carpros and TY for the donation

Might not be a rod knock, an engine that's overheating will create a spark knock/detonation that sounds like a bunch of marbles being thrown into an empty tin can. Is this your case, if so try fixing the crack on the radiator, you're losing coolant and causing the engine to overheat.
