I have a 1996 Mazda 626 4 cylinder, 140K miles. Changing out the right side drive axle. Got the axle nut off (finally!!), disconnected the connections to the control arm.. Now - how the heck do I get the axle out of the inboard connection? I pounded on the old one with a hammer, didn't seem to move at all. Any tricks to get it out? Thanks!! Jim

When removing the intermediate shaft, insert a prybar between the intermediate shaft flange and the transaxle to pry it loose.
