The autel scanner was tried on another vehicle. It was communicating but it didn't read any codes. The menu displayed. What I have realized is, I might right or wrong but the most important thing right now is how to ensure that data link communicator DLC is communicating with the PCM. If that is not in place, I wonder how the previous mechanic was able to program the key he claimed he had programmed. From the software manual I have, it states that ' the ISO 9141 communication network will not function if the wire is shorted to the ground or battery voltage. Also, if one of the modules on the ISO 9141 communications network loses power or shorts internally, communication to that module will fail. I am suspicious of the starter relay K22 C1017 in the CJB. How do I test relays. Do you think it is internal short that has made the DLC not to communicate. If the DLC is communicating, then the key can be programmed and the car get running. You can review this and state your opinion. I am glad you help. Thanks
