Loss of accleration

Vehicle was running fine, (newly purchased) then put two gallons of below average gas in her. Afterwhich started running erratically, losing acceleration. Will still run in idle. Called a so-called mobile mechanic who did not know a thing about it. But quote rates without explanation.
right before this we also repainted the hood, maybe air filters or jets clogged or dirty?

The gas may be the problem it may have water or some contamination in it. replace the fuel filter and check fuel pressure with a gauge auto parts rent it and scan for codes. as it may be a combination of things. See link.
