I just got the vehicle listed above Blazer. It has the Central Port Injection on it. Just replaced the whole spider injector and seemed to be running okay. Also did plugs, wires an new distributor. Set the timing correctly and ran a bit better but when I try to run the engine it seems as though the #1 cylinder is dead. I can take off the plug wire, from the spark plug while it's running and it does not change the way the engine runs. When I run the engine without the spark plug in it, I did not notice any fuel coming out of the spark plug hole. It may be getting some fuel as the new spark plug had carbon all over it. Also got a new fuel pump for it as well. 90 PSI in tank pump with new filter. Not sure why it's either not firing, getting fuel or another problem I have not noticed yet?

Good afternoon,

The first thing I would do is check the compression. You should have at least 140-160 for it to contribute to the running. If the compression is low, it could be a burnt valve.

You can rent a tester at a parts store for the test. Let me know the results so we can continue.

Thank you very much. I am currently at work but should be able to test the compression around 5:00 pm today. I will be able to send pictures as well.

Okay, just tested it. Says it's at about 121 PSI.

I also checked numbers 2, 4 and 6. All have about 138 PSI. Number 2 spark was black and had oil on it. Guessing number 2 wasn't working all that good either.

What is the fuel pressure? You can rent a tester from a parts store to verify it.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-fuel-system-pressure-and-regulator

FUEL PRESSURE
1. Ignition "OFF" for 10 Seconds.
2. With ignition "ON," engine "OFF" and fuel pump running, pressure should be 380-420 kPa (55-61 psi).
For additional fuel pressure testing procedures, See: A L L Diagnostic Trouble Codes ( DTC ) > Related Tests, Information and Procedures > A - E Charts & Related Test Procedures

Checking the fuel pressure soon. Will let you know the results in a day or when I have time to work on it again.
