1994 Lincoln Town Car V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 187k miles
After I've driven my Towncar for about 10-15 minutes, it always cuts off unless I keep giving it gas. It's to the point where whenever I stop, I have to keep the gas pressed slightly, I don't have to rev it or anything, just pressed enough to keep it from idling. The car has always sounded like it idles really low, but then again I've never owned a Towncar so I'm not positive if they're supposed to idle so low that the engine running is barely detectable.
I've also been having electrical problems which may or may not be somehow related. First I noticed that my running lights stopped working. Though my break lights still worked fine. I checked my fuses and noticed several fuses were missing (mostly stuff I don't need like cigar lighter, etc). And others had lower wattage fuses than the fuse diagram lists. I replaced all missing/incorrect wattage fuses. Turned the car on, and smelled a burning smell (multiple fuses had blown and my brake lights no longer worked). None of my tail lights are blown, I checked all 6 yesterday. I also noticed that if I turn on my lights at night (though they do not turn on), my dash lights go so dim that they're nearly undetectable. Also a few days ago, my speakers went out. They had been working just fine and had a fresh fuse and everything, but all of a sudden the speakers stopped working and I smelled a burnt fuse (though the radio stayed on, only speakers shut off). I'm figuring that it's probably a short, but I didn't think a shortage would affect so many different electrical components.
Any recommendations where I could start looking for a solution to these two problems?
