The car turns over, sounds like it is going to start every once in a while but does not start. It is getting fuel. Has nothing to do with spark plugs, checked them out. Could you please give me some ideas. This is my only transportation, I cannot get to work, if I knew what was wrong I could fix it. Please help me.

You checked the plugs. Did you check for spark?
The coils on this motor could in theory fire the spark if the plug was two blocks away. So good plugs a bonus but you need to know if you have good spark. Take one coil out. Get a spare sparkplug(DONT USE THE ONE OUT OF THE CYLINDER FROM THE COIL) the reason is if the fuel sprays out on the sparkplug and it ignites. Car goes up in flames(personal experience) ground the plug usually a wire or something touch the threads of the plug to metal, have a friend crank the car and watch and listen for spark. Should see bright blue spark and hear the snap

If you have good spark. And are getting good fuel pressure. The only thing left is compression. Take all the plugs out and run a compression test. Wright down your findings on paper and mark which cylinders. For future reference.

Would the fuel pump be bad if it started and ran for 10 secs then died, now it will not start back. You can't even hear the fuel pump kick on and there is no pressure in the line. Would it possible be the fuel pump being loose or just went bad? It's cranking, but will not start up.

You need to hear the fuel pump come on in order for it to produce pressure. If not Check the fuse and fuel pump relay then comeback with some results.

Try resetting security system first. See link. if still not starting scan for codes and check fuel pressure with a gauge auto parts rent it.

The fuel system is self bleeding and since could be started, the bleeding should be complete.

You need to check what is missing when it could not start, ignition sparks or fuel.

If fuel, you would need to test the fuel pressure.

I have a 2001 Lincoln LS 3.9 V8. It will turn over but will not start. The battery is brand new and so is the fuel filter. I can hear the fuel pump wind when the key is on. Ive gotten it to start twice but the engine knocks so I shut the car off. Ive had it since 84,000 miles (now has 130,000) and perform routine maintenance. I've had no problems accept I replaced two coil packs a while back. I ran OBDII but it wont give me numerical codes, it says OH C E EV something along those lines. I am stumpedany help is appreciated and I wont leave you hanging!

Are you getting oil pressure? If not, it will shut the engine down. You mentioned an engine knock. That is the first thing I would check.
