My trusty Lexus has ceased to start?

My trusty Lexus has ceased to start. Even though there are signs full electrical power when you turn the key (dash lights, a/c/ radio etc all will work) the engine no longer turns over. We had the battery checked, just in case, and that is not the problem.

We know it could be the starter, though we are hoping there is something we can check before this costly repair. Any suggestions?

What is it doing cranking over and will not start or just won't crank at all/nothing.

Cranks and w/n start:

Get a helper disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors- Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it

No crank at ll/nothing

Could be the ignition switch, park and neutral position switch, starter relay and starter itself

Try this hold key at start position and bang on the starter if it engages the engine replace the starter.

For awhile it was just every now and then, but then it would start on the second or third try. Then the other day it just would not start and has not started since.

No sound no nothing from the engine. We have turned off the radio and a/c. But the dash still lights up.

Load test the battery if okay double check battery connections make sure its cleaned and properly tightened and at the starter end.

Probable causes could be the ignition switch, park and neutral position switch, starter relay and starter itself.

I found out that there’s some type of security mechanism.

If you’re able to get in but the automatic lock buttons don’t work causing it to not to lock or unlock,
(make sure to keep the door open a little)
try Locking it manually with the manual lock and unlock switch from the inside, and then get out and shut your door, lock it Again from the outside with your keys securely and then unlock it securely, and then get back in, shut your door, and try starting your car. This worked for me.

Seeing this, made it seem like my security system restricted me access from even starting my engine, or making any noise at at. I thought my starter went out, or my ignition was faulty. But doing this simple little trick seemed to do the deal. May not work for everyone but it worked for me!
