Well Losone,

I was lucky and oh so wrong, went to Landrover dealership yesterday to p/u an oil filter, ask the service dept and luckily it was all but a press of the odometer button. the diagnostic test converted the miles to km. I feel really crazy but yet elated that all turned out for the best. Thank you so, so much for your help.

Hummm maybe it is driving on the wrong side of the road that causes such a problem!

Seriously, it is probably the odometer it self. I can't think of any way that a disgnostics could cause the odometer to increase mileage unless there is a defective speed sensor or a gear has fractured in the tranny control. However just sitting there shouldn't cause the problem. Let an expert look at the reading from the computer with a scanner and see what he says. Let me know

after having a computer diagnostic for high idoling 2 weeks ago, wondering if that had anything to do with the mileage change if the diagnostics computer messed it up. I need some advise.

thanks losone
the car wasn't sitting there the whole time I was driving it, i didn't notice the mileage change til sunday. you don't think the miles were rolled back do yo? that's my biggest fear. Also, wouldn't the diagnostics test have shown the problem before now? You think? huh?huh?

Ah-Ha!I think you hit the cat on the head. Many high dollar cars have an input for miles and if the computer is reset correctly it will return the mileage to the correct miles.

Good luck
