I was driving to work when all of a sudden it lost power and the engine started making a knocking/loud ticking noise on the left bank of the engine. I heard it could be the rocker assembly. It does have some play it seems like just not totally sure.

Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so I can hear the noise? That way I can tell for sure what's going on. You can upload it here with your response. Also check the engine oil level to make sure it is clean and full.

Thanks for the video. So, is this the engine running or is it you trying to crank the engine over? If you are trying to crank the engine over, it sounds like the battery is dead. It might have shorted out when driving and could cause the problem you are having. This guide can help us confirm the issue:

Okay, these engines had problems with the valve train, I would remove the valve cover on the side of the engine that is making the noise to check the rockers and valve lash. You are looking for excessive clearance. Check out the images (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem so we can see what's going on.

Thanks for the video. From what I saw the rocker seems to be okay. You might want to turn the engine over by hand to rotate the camshafts and check the clearance again. The movement that you show is normal. Also use a flashlight and check the valve springs to make sure none of them are broken. And while you are at it check the camshaft lobes for wear.
