Sometimes when I try and start my car it won't start or even turn over. It's like the batteries dead but I checked the battery and its fine. The lights won't come on or anything. I sometimes have to sit and wait 20-30minutes before the car will finally start. I took it to a repair shop 2 mths. Ago and they said it was two sensors that needed replaced. A week later my car started doing the same thing until eventually it didn't start at all. I had it towed to the same repair shop and they said one of the sensors was bad & they replaced it free of charge. A week later my car returned to not wanting to start. No car place seems to know whats wrong with it. Some have suggested it's an electrical problem & that the sensors should have corrected it. Could it be the battery even though the battery is showing that it's good? Whenever I get into my car I always have to reset my clock and radio(this is after my car finally starts). This is another reason I think its the battery. Could it be a fuse?

I have had some similar problems with my sportage. And one problem after another. I have come to the conclusion the these cars are junk. But to answer your question it is not the battery if u dont have to keep jump starting it. It sounds to me to be a short in ur electrical system. And u could have a bad ground some where. Try disconecting the neg, batt. Cable and hook a test light from the cable to the neg. Batt. Post if it lights up u have a short in the electrical system some where. Another thing u can do is go to autozone and rent a code reader and then start trouble shooting from there. That is the stage that I am at with mine. Good luck with yours

If the lights do not come on, there is a poblem with the power supply and it could be a contaminated or loose terminal. Clock and radio requiring constant resetting means power supply had been disrupted.

Disconnect the battery and clean the terminals. Reinstall and tighten them securely and retest.

Another way to test if it is the battery or its connection is to use a jump start to check if it works.
