After I park my auto then turn the key left for turning off engine, the key goes to “ACC” and won’t turn any further left. Key won’t get out. After leaving the key in the “Acc” position for a few minutes, and without touching the steering wheel I suddenly can turn the key all the way left and take out the key from the ignition switch. It is not the ignition switch they told me. What can be the issue?

It does sound like the ignition switch that needs lubrication, have you tried WD40 inside the keyhole of the ignition tumbler? This what I would do this guide can help as well.

The ignition lock has many little moving parts that can jam if not properly lubricated. Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.

I already have tried; key comes out after a few seconds. But why does the key come out after a few minutes when stuck at “Acc” without using wd40 or doing nothing? Can you explain what can be the problem?

It looks like there is an ignition lock switch down at the steering column if this switch is not working it may cause the problem you are having. The next this I would do is a CAN scan which is easy. You can get a CAN scanner from Amazon for about $30.00.

Here is a video to show you how:

Here is a scanner link:

Check the location of the ignition lock switch below.

Today I park and turn the key for turning off engine it went to “ Acc” and won’t turn left anymore, I hold/push the head of the ignition switch with my left index finger and at the same time I turn the key and it went all the way left turning my engine off and I could pull out the key. During the day I did the same 3 times : left index finger holding the head of the ignition switch and turning the key out : without any problem, but when I arrived home I did the same operation but this time it gets stuck again at “Acc”. I left the key at “Acc” without touching the key, the ignition switch or the steering wheel and after 3 or 4 minutes I could turn the key all the way left for taking out the key without doing nothing. What can be the solution for this?

Yep, you need a key lock tumbler replacement. You will probably need it to be coded, I would call the dealer for the part and ask if this is the case.

Is the key lock tumbler the same as the ignition switch? If not, can you send me a picture? I have Google it but I’ m not sure. And what is the work of the key lock tumbler and where is it located? Thanks
