I know this is kind of old. And I am sure you might have probably got that sorted out. But first of all I hope you got your self a spare key now, I advice you to keep it in your wallet, second thing is if something like this happens again in the future call a locksmith instead of bothering with High Street dealers because they have made themselves far more trouble than they are worth, and their prices are simply mad. Apparently selling cars has become a very low-margin business, and they have therefore decided to make their profits on after-care services like key replacement. This is why they charge such mad prices. A local locksmith will be able to do the same job for cheaper price and even faster than them. You will find more useful advices on how to replace car keys.
