Blue smoke from the tailpipe

I recently purchased a 2007 Jeep Liberty Sport with 3.7L engine, auto transmission. When the car sits for a few hours, upon starting, it emits blue smoke from the tailpipe for a few seconds. It is under warranty, so I will bringit to dealer, but am concerned that this may indicate a faulty engine, which over time may get worse. The vehicle has only 300 miles on it. Any advice would be most welcome.
Thank you.

It is good to notify the dealer and have them verify this early on. Unless they find something, I would get through 3-5000 miles before being more concerned.

Car runs fine but is using oil [a lot] when idling for several minutes then you raise the engine it will smoke a lot for about 30 seconds and seams to quite smoking also after idling it will smoke under the hood. Is there a common cause for this as so many people are experiencing much the same thing?

Check your pcv system first see if it has vacuum it may be plugged. Check for an oil leak from valve covers
