When I last got into my jeep I turned the key power came on but the car didn't start. If I push the key in while turning it, it starts right up. Just wondering why this would start happening and if its something I should fix.

Thanks

What you describe is worn ign switch contacts. You may want to look into changing the switch soon so it doesn't wear to the point where it leaves you stranded. Hope this helps.

I checked to see if there was any adjustment on the ign switch to compensate for wear, but apparently not. Hope the diagrams help.

Turns out it wasn't the switch itself but a shaft that connects the key to the switch.

Glad you found it. Usually the switch starts to "jam" and gives problem, but in automotive, anything's possible.
