1995 Jeep Laredo transmission problems

Someone told me that they are wiring that goes through the radio that can cause it not to shift right
Is this true?

The violet/brown wire and white/grey wire from the radio goes to the transmission control module data link connector, you could check those out to make sure they are not damaged.
