2000 Jeep Laredo 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

Hello,

If the overdrive unit on this Jeep isn't working correctly, will it effect reverse?

No effect on Reverse if OD out. What happens in REV like neutral? or lke parking brake on? or juttering/slipping?

When you but it in reverse, the transmission shifts but doesn't move. I droped the pan a saw a snap ring broken in three pieces.

That would probably come from Reverse accumulator.
