Loud Bang then rattling in rear of Jeep Grand Cherokee 2004

For the past two days, my Jeep has made a zzz-ing noise on the right side. It is loud and lasts about 1 minute while I have my foot on the accelerator. Today, when I was driving, I heard a loud bang in the rear, and then rattling like my back tires were going to fall off. It has 26,000 miles and I just purchased it about 1.5 months ago. Please advise. Thanks.

Does it still drive? Brake pedal feel normal? Anything different since the big bang. Forgive all the questions, noises are the hardest to diagnose online

I just received a call from the dealer. The rear differential went along with the ring and pinion. $1800 job thankfully covered by warranty. Thanks. Midori
