1992 Jeep Cherokee banging noise

My 1992 jeep has a banging noise coming from under the body. I have never heard anything like it. It only happens when I hit the gas and not all the time either. It never does it after it has been sitting for a little while, and its not a very loud noise. I was wondering if it had anything to do with a c/v joint or maybe the transfer case.

My Jeep had a similar issue, it would clunk when put into gear. I checked it out and ended up changing a U-joint on the rear drive shaft.
