I used the car this morning. It's was about 20 degrees outside. I dropped kids off at school. Came back home and turned car off. Saw the flash of OVER TEMP MODE. Got out and the car sounds like something is running but the car is turned off. Now it won't start and is still making that noise over an hour later.

Manual says Over Temp Mode will cool down the transmission and then it will be normal. Is this normal? How long does it take? Is the car driveable? Should I go directly to the shop? Comlpetely lost here?

It certainly should not take an hour in that kind of weather.

There is a relay stuck or a bad temp. Sensor and it will only run the battery down to the point that it will need to be replaced.

So take to dealer or trusted garage.
