I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. Let me start this by saying that I am experiencing a couple of issues with my vehicle but I am pretty sure that they aren’t causing my main issue which is that it won’t start. I turn the key (in neutral as I am having some linkage issues due to a newly rebuilt transmission) and all I get is a click. I have a brand new battery and a new positive cable which was recently replaced due to it being corroded. The radio works as does all of the other electrical equipment and so I don’t think that it is a voltage issue. Any thoughts?

Iyou have known issues with the shift linkage, you may be farther off than you know. Also if the positive cable was that bad, the negative one is worth a look. Especially where it conects. At both ends, see if the car will start with a jump. The starter itself can also be your problem.
