Hello,
I have a problem with the heat taking a long time to warm up. I changed the thermostat thinking this was the problem, but it was not. I have read about the blend doors being bad on these jeeps, but it would mean there would be no heat at all. Once it does start working, it is great. Is there a sensor that runs the blend doors that might be causing the problem? I have the glove box out now letting it get cold so I can experiment with the open and close of the blend doors. They seem to work fine now when it is warm. Any thoughts on this?

Do you have automatic temperature control or the manual system? You may have an air lock problem in your heater core.

I want to say it is manual. Just the 3 knobs, ac button and rear defrost. I watched the blend door actuator today when cold with the glove box out and it seems to work fine and it actually warmed up fast. I could not make it do what it was doing. I do not think that air in the heater core is it because it does the same with the Air conditioning. It will run cold for a while and then it shuts down for a while and kicks back on. Maybe that has nothing to do with heat but I do remember that from the summer.

Glad you have heat. If your AC is cycling on/off, you may be low on freon. The only time the AC runs in the heat mode is in defrost.
