1999 Jeep Cherokee Vehicle will not start after running out

My daughter in law ran out of gas on her way to work. Even after putting two gallons of gas into the tank the vehicle still will not start. What could the problem be?

You'll need to do a fuel pressure test to verify the bad news i'm about to tell you.

The electric fuel pumps in the tank need fuel to keep them cool and lubricated.

I you run them dry, you increase your chances of the pump failing.
