I have this 1996 Jeep grand Cherokee, 4.0 eng.
when the transmition warms up, it seems not to want to shift from first to 2nd. this is an automatic transmition. the fluid leve is full. if i drop it to nutral and back to drive it will engage and act right. this seems to happen when I am pulling out from a dead stop. what could the problem be and can I fix it, or will i need to take it a transmition shop.

Help please.

Might have a valve sticking. Try replacing the fluid and filter. If that does not help you will need a tranny shop.

Good luck and let us know. :)
