My engine will not idle, but when accelarator is depressed, it will raise. What can do to repair

Take off the idle motor and try to clean it up. Dont get teh electrical connector wet or use wd40. Has to be a solvent that will dry up and evaporate with no residue. Such as qd electrical cleaner.
