1996 Jeep Cherokee Engine died

Engine sputtered a little while driving, tachometer and speedo meter were going crazy them it died. Cap and rotor were shot so I replaced them, still won't start

SHOT. AS IN. THIS SHOULDA BEEN A REGULAR PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE REPLACEMENT---OR---THEY WERE DESTROYED FROM THIS PROBLEM?

HAVE YOU HAD RECENT BATTERY OR ALTERNATOR ISSUES. HAVE YOU BEEN RECENTLY JUMPED OFF?

WILL NOT START MEANS---NOTHING AT ALL. OR IT DOES TURN OVER?

Got it running! Checked ASD relay and fuse, fuse was blown, replaced it and it started right up then died again, checked fuse and it was blown. My buddy got on this site and saw most common reason for fuse to blow was a grounded out o2 sensor, checked mine and wire had came loose from the part that holds it up tight to the underside of the floor board and was hanging on my front drive shaft eventually wearing it down to bare wire and thus grounding it out.

. AND REMEMBER, AS YOUR OWNER'S MANUAL (MOST ALL OF 'EM) STRONGLY RECOMMENDS CHECKING THAT COOLANT AND OIL LEVEL "WEEKLY". YES, "WEEKLY". THIS WILL ALWAYS KEEP YOU "AWARE" OF BAD THINGS STARTING TO HAPPEN. AND IN THE NICK OF TIME, BEFORE SOMETHING GET'S DAMAGED. EVEN SLIGHTLY DAMAGED. DO YOUR SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE ON TIME/ MILE INTERVALS (ALL OF IT). NOT JUST WHEN SOMETHING TEARS UP. MR. ENGINE LAST LONG LONG TIME!
