1996 Jeep Cherokee engine fails then wont start

Welcome to the forum. When the vehicle refuses to restart, have a helper crank it, while you check for spark at the plugs. If no spark, check for primary voltage at the coil and injectors, engine cranking. If nothing, check the voltage and ground circuits at the asd relay. My first thought was a crank or cam sensor issue, but, you need to do some testing.
