Hi, I have a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0 that I can not drive because it has a salvage non-repairable title, so I bought a broken 1995 Jeep grand Cherokee with a clean title so I could transfer the engine and transmission and save the parts of my 1996 Jeep because it only has 60k miles, well after buying the 1995 jeep I found out that my 1996 jeep comes with the OBD, and my 1995 doesn't have the OBD, so now I am thinking if Im going to have a problem with that. Is it going to have a different computer? Are the cables going to be different, Can I adapt the engine and transmission to my 1995 jeep, I know the engine and transmission are the same but what about the cables and plugs? I don't know, Also I was thinking since my 1996 Jeep is intact what if I move all the electrical wiring, whole dash board and computers to my 1995 would this be easier more practical because I really don't want to have any electrical problems in the future, and if I do that do I have to change the gas pump because if I have to do that I don't want to go through the process of taking off the whole fuel tank, since I'm not a mechanic. Please I nee your help, I will really really appreciate it if you can help me. Pablo Torrico

We always recommend staying with direct fit parts because of this. Some of the parts should be fine; however, others won't work. The engine / trans should, but I can't be 100% sure because I don't have the cross reference info needed.

All I can say is as parts go bad on the new one, check to see if parts have the same numbers.
