The jeep begins to hesitate occasionally especially when it is driven at 65 mph or greater but is beginning to do so above 55. We have replaced the plugs, wires, coil, cap and rotor and fuel filter. It seems to be occurring more often now.

We have checked and it is not showing any codes. It sounds and behaves pretty much normally otherwise.

It is a 4cylinder 2.5 liter engine, 2wd, standard trans.

First, I need to know what engine is in it. I don't believe they placed the 2.5 4cyl in the grand cherokee. Next, has fuel pump pressure been tested?

Just a regular cherokee 4cylinder 2.5 liter engine, 2wd, standard trans, haven't had the fuel pump checked, there is one shop within an hour drive of our location and they are booked for a month out. So anything we can do ourselves at this time is the most helpful.

Are there any nationally recognized parts stores near you? I could provide you the instructions for checking fuel pressure. The parts stores will usually lend or rent the gauge to you.

Also, have you tried replacing the fuel filter?
