I have a 1997 jeep grand cherokee v6 and I need someone to tell me where the hell the fuel filter is? I check the entire fuel line the only place I didn't check was on the top of the tank. I heard so many different places and checked them all. I really hope it's not on the top of the tank. Anyone out there that could help me I would really appreciate it ?

I replaced my 1994 Grand Cherokee filter and it was in-line right before the gas tank. Driver side by the frame rail.

Probably won't find it. It's in the tank. Part of the fuel pump assembly.

On my 96 it was under the car at the back just in front of the gas tank. It's a large cylinder shaped inline filter

I have an 88 and it's in the same place, but when Dodge took over they changed it to become part of the fuel pump.
One of their great ideas to make more money from the consumer.

Yea. I know what you mean. Let's all give Dodge a round of applause for making it more costly for the consumer. Way to go Dodge!

Yeah, the filter is at the pump. I have never heard of anyone replacing it because the fuel doesn't constantly flow to then engine and back.
