My 1992 4.0ho engine will stop at will and then not fire. Or will not fire after up to temperature. LOcal mechanics have confirmed no fire and then after 15 minutes or so will start. Something heating up?/ Or what?

Hello, are you saying the vehicle cranks good but won't start when the problem occurs? Are you saying there is no spark at the plugs?

With the vehicle cranking if there is no primary voltage at the coil or injectors, there may be a sensor problem?

Are there any codes?

Hi. Vehicle cranks fine. No spark at the plus there are no coes on the dash instruments and there is no way to check for codes unless it does it at the garage? How do I check the coil? Thanks for the response

There should be a two wire connector at the coil, that should be the primary circuits. The dark green wire with orange tracer should be hot with engine cranking. Just take the connector loose, use a testlite.

If you do alot of testing with the engine cranking and the injectors pulsing, you may flood the cylinders, making it even harder to get started.

You could also do an ohms test on the coil primary terminals, I don't have that spec right in front of me.
