My 1989 Jeep Cherokee won't start and stay running when it's cold out, but it will start and run fine when it's warm out

You may need to run the engine at a higher rpm when you first start it (put it in neutral and run it at about 1500 rpm) until it warms up. If your jeep cherokee has a power outlet at the front end (should be located under your bumper, it has a very short cord), your engine is equipped with an engine block heater. Plugging this into an outlet via extension cord will warm up your engine (give it a few hours to work, like plug it in before you go to bed) before you start it. If you don't have one installed, I believe you can have them installed aftermarket, but they're pretty pricy. I'm not exactly how much they are though.
