The problem:
Hard starting after sitting and cooling
1. Replaced HEI distributer assembly
2. Installed OEM spark plugs set at.045
3. Installed new 9mm plug wires
4. Installed rotor and cap
5. Head gasket changed after being blown but head and block were not warped as.001 feeler gauge cold not pass through with a machinest straight edge and marble block
In the morning the engine is hard starting thought the battery is good and less than 6 months old
after starting the engine runs smooth with no hick ups.
after cooling for about 6+ hours it is some times hard to start.
When warm starts 2nd or 3rd crank.
I would like some better guidance than the haynes book gives me.

Hi there qamguy and TY for the donation this is what keeps the site going.

Lets begin by doing a fuel pressure check if okay-test the coolant tmperature sensor its job is to tell the computer to enrich the fuel during cold starts and also test the fuel pump relay-
