Was told by chain repair shop needed head gasket after they told me first was waterpump on my truck, replaced head gasket timing belt and water pump, put it back together and think I goffed up the timing, read manual and how to put distributor back in after number 1 is @ tdc and still cannot get engine to turn over. Plenty of fuel, but engine just sounds as if there is not enough juice firing to get the engine going. Tried not one but three different batteries and made sure all had been completely charged as well as jump starting. Need help. The starter turns just fine and all was working prior to the head gasket being replaced.

Hi there,

I need to get a few things clarified first,

1, is engine cranking over on starter at a good speed.

2. if not remove plugs & re try how is it now?

3. did you have the head re machined and all the gasket is removed from block, it must be spotless?

4. valve timing is correct see pic.
